ERRANDS of the Carolinas was conceived to help give back two of the most precious concerns in today's modern society, time and convenience.
Long before ERRANDS of the Carolinas, Carol Ann Cox was a busy wife and mother while raising two children in Pottsville, PA. Because she had the luxury of working part-time while her children were young, Carol Ann took a “correspondence course” in Business with LaSalle Extension University and then attended many evening classes at Schuylkill County Vo-Tech Institute in Frackville, PA., when not at Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, dance lessons or volunteering at their church or the local Firehouse Station.
While juggling being a wife and mom, she got back into the business world and worked her way to Vice-President of Administration for UNI-Temp Staffing Services. With her busy career schedule, she was an avid Rotarian of the Rotary Club of Pottsville, PA., District 7370, and a Member of the Chamber of Commerce. Eventually Carol Ann was elected President of the Rotary Club of Pottsville, PA in 1996 to 1997. She was on various Rotary committees which included the Annual Banquet for District 7370, Rotoact and Interact which is where she met her current husband. She is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Benefactor.
Then in 1997, due to her mother’s medical bout with Alzheimer’s, she became her Legal Guardian and since her children were in college Carol moved back home to take care of her mother. She depended on an adult day care center to care for her mom while she continued working, and friends and nurses to take care for her mom when she needed to get errands taken care of like, getting her mom’s prescription, groceries and pay bills.
After her mom passed away in April of 2000, she and her husband Roger moved to Charlotte.
After her last employment ended due to new ownership, the idea of helping to give busy working people more time in the day came to her. Since Carol has served many years volunteering her time organizing Conferences for Rotary and opening new offices for her employer, she has taken a professional interest in helping others.
With Carol’s experience in both Girl and Boy Scouts, Small Businesses, Rotary District #7370, Administration, event planning and Care giving and Rogers experience in Finances, they hope to alleviate stress of busy employees by giving back two of the most precious concerns in today's modern society, time and convenience.
